RED-stack

REDstack originally developed stack technology for generation of green osmotic energy. With Reverse Electro Dialyses (RED). Mixing sea water and fresh water from rivers will lead to power generation when the mixing is done in the REDstacks. There is a demonstration power generation plant with REDstack technology in the Afsluitdijk, the Netherlands.

Higher salt gradients will lead to higher efficiency in power generation from salt water streams. Brines from SeaWaterRO installations could also be used for power generation, in combination with effluent of waste water treatment plants. REDstack has experience with this in projects like Hyreward.
