Last week, the container for desalination of brackish water, for irrigation with electrodialysis, was transported from Sneek (REDstack BV) to Stavenisse (FT Equipment and Irrigation).
Through this practical experience, the technical feasibility of using desalinated water for irrigation of agricultural crops is being explored
Among others, cooperation is taking place with Waterschap Scheldestromen and Nederlandse Voedsel- en Warenautoriteit (NVWA), so that both grower and regulator can learn from it and formulate policies to give farmers in Zeeland a future despite the freshwater problem.
